"The Office of Jeff Jenkins"
Jeff Jenkins the President and Owner of Leonards approached me to re-design his existing office to better accommodate his needs. As one can see from the before photos, the office space was very simple with no frills. All Jeff requested was that I provide him with a beautiful room that could facilitate as both a personal office and a comfortable meeting space for several people.
My goal was to design an office that didn't feel like an office, but more like a retreat. I wanted it to be sophisticated, yet comfortable and inviting. This small 8' x 10' dormer room with large window, and double width door initially posed a challenge for my plan; however, with thoughtful design, I was able to create the space that I envisioned for Jeff.
Wall-to-wall sisal carpet was used to create a neutral ground and to enlarge the room visually. A reproduction of an antique Indian rug in jewel-tones was layered on top of the sisal, served as my inspiration and helped determine the color palette for the office. Hand-printed silk, rich silk angora, and a myriad of trims complement the neutral woven fabric on the loveseat and bring richness to the room. A paisley roman shade adds color and warmth to the window, while matchstick blinds create more texture and depth. European light fixtures and custom silk shades add to the ambiance and enhance the dark mahogany furniture throughout. Family photos, collectibles and other accessories personalize the space and add the finishing touch to the room.
